The spacefaring arm of the 4X genre has a long and extremely celebrated history on the PC. From the classics like Galactic Civilizations and Masters of Orion to the relatively more recent entries like Sins of a Solar Empire and Endless Space, each take on the premise brings with it a different balance of micromanagement and automation. Unlike the terrestrial entries in the genre, though, there aren’t many soundtracks that I can claim have been particularly memorable. With Stellaris, Paradox Interactive seeks to bring their own spin on both the mechanics and the music behind the genre. Paradox composer Andreas Waldetoft has combined sci-fi electronica with performances by the Brandenburg State Orchestral to give us a synthesis of genre that has definitely aimed to give us something memorable. The opening track to the soundtrack is the aptly-named ‘Stellaris Suite – Creation & Beyond’. While this isn’t really an overture, per se, it does present a couple of the recurring themes that are present throughout the rest of the soundtrack. This track also shows how effectively a certain kind of song evokes a particular setting in a very particular way. In this case, the overall feel is very rooted in ‘military sci-fi’-style video games. It’s very reminiscent of the sorts of themes that are present in Starcraft, or Halo, or, most recently, Mass Effect. This last one is probably the most significant comparison because the overall style of both soundtracks are very similar. Both rely heavily on a combination of orchestral and pulsing electronic tracks with strong influences from all manner of science fiction. While I very much adore the Mass Effect soundtracks, when I listened to the opening track on the Stellaris soundtrack, I can very confidently say that Stellaris has the soundtrack that Mass Effect wishes it had.Is Stellaris Free
The second track, ‘Deep Space Travels’ starts off with the same themes that the opening track developed, but then partway through sort of explodes into a bombastic organ-heavy theme reminiscent of Notre Dame or St. Peter’s Basilica. It’s obvious that if the first track represents the military might of a planetary navy, this second track represents the ever-present spread of influence through religion. In the last third, the track shifts to organ backed by electronica that is reminiscent of something that Dance with the Dead would put out. For all that Stellaris takes its sound from a variety of previous works of video game science fiction, it doesn’t really rely on any one source of influence and instead blends its various sounds into something pretty original.Stellaris Complete Soundtrack Download
The middle of the soundtrack is where things start to lull for me. I don’t mean this in the sense that the tracks aren’t good, because they are. For me, it’s more that they tend to be slightly different variations on the same couple of general themes. On further reflection, this does a lot in the soundtrack’s favor when it comes to being, well, a soundtrack to a game. Songs like ‘The Celestial City’ take the initial themes and alter them to be slower, less obtrusive background music. Likewise, songs like ‘Pillars of Creation’ and ‘Riding the Solar Wind’ are longer takes on the recurring moods of the album.
The more I think about the way the album is laid out, though, the more I appreciate it. A 4X game has a definite ‘middle lull’ in which the player is deeply focused on the nuts and bolts of creating an empire. In this part of the game, the player really gets into a kind of groove, similar to getting ‘in the zone’ when working on somewhat repetitive tasks that feed into each other. For something like this, the music can’t overpower the situation. A good 4X soundtrack will not snap the player out of that zone, but will instead encourage it with soft transitions and steady rhythms. ‘Gravitational Constant’, ‘Alpha Centauri’, and are perfect examples of songs that draw the listener in with a steady beat and soft, unobtrusive themes, and in fact, ‘To the End of the Galaxy’ sounds almost exactly like a certain song that one might have heard when scanning for palladium.
One of the tracks that really stands out to me is ‘Spatial Lullaby’. It’s a slow track, and it takes the theme of ‘sleep’ and uses it to evoke the feeling of a long space flight under the effects of cryogenic slumber. It’s also the first track on the soundtrack that uses vocals, though it isn’t the last. The operatic vocals in this track are used in what I think is an interesting and effective way. Rather than take charge of the track and pull the listener’s attention, the vocals sort of weave in and out of it. They become, effectively, another instrument in the orchestra just like the electronic aspects of the music start to be in the middle segment of the album. No one style of instrumentation among the vocal, the orchestral, and the electronic ever dominates for very long. The end result is a blending of style that, in my opinion, it takes a very skilled composer to achieve.
The crowning achievement of the entire soundtrack is the penultimate track, ‘Luminescence’. This track starts out with the soft electronic beats that have permeated the rest of the album, and then starts to layer the various styles and sounds of the rest of the album over them. By the time the vocals start to weave in about a third of the way through, the listener is already drawn into the beauty of the track. While ‘Luminescence’ is more electronic than organic in instrumentation, the track does play off of everything that’s come before while utilizing a theme that has only been used very sparingly throughout the rest of the album. There is a sense of sadness to this track, in both the vocals and in the overall feel. As the song goes on, it evokes the image of an endless space flight to the stars and of the feeling of leaving behind everything one has known to journey into the unknown reaches. It brings to mind the last cries of a dying star, something which can be heard for millennia after the star itself has long since ceased to exist.
With all the comparisons that I’ve made between the Stellaris soundtrack and the Mass Effect soundtrack, it’s only fitting that they end in a very similar manner. The final track, ‘Faster than Light’ is a blending of the sci-fi electronic beat and organ music from earlier in the soundtrack. At the end, though, the addition of drums into the mix gives it the same sort of effect as the track that closes out the soundtrack to Mass Effect 3. In that case, the track was composed by a synth-rock band, whereas for Stellaris it’s one more facet of the solid talent displayed by Waldetoft throughout the entirety of the album. It’s an ending, but it’s not one that ends on any permanent note. Rather, it’s intended to be something that can loop back and display a continuity of style. In fact, the way that most of the tracks are arranged lends itself very well to being played on shuffle or repeat, which is quite perfect for a genre that demands many, many hours of playtime.Summary
Stellaris is a soundtrack that blends many different elements into a cohesive whole that just works. Andreas Waldetoft and the Paradox Interactive sound team have managed to augment a very good spacefaring 4X game with a soundtrack that deserves to be up there with the greats. In fact, the whole soundtrack is a very good parallel for the entire experience of playing a 4X game. There’s the initial wonder of creation and exploration. There’s the middle that lulls the player into a groove that, when done right, leads the player along without getting into the way. And then there’s the end, where everything the player has built just comes together into this one shining bastion of civilization triumphing over all adversity. This is why it’s not a knock against the soundtrack to say that the middle section is ‘unobtrusive’. That’s the purpose that the soundtrack serves, and functionally it serves the gameplay very, very well. It’s those pillars of brilliance at the beginning and the end, though, that make the Stellaris come together into something truly wonderful.

The Stanley Parable is a great game, but it’s endings and achievements are quite… obscure. I made this guide to help those who are trying to figure out how to unlock and complete these hidden components of the game.Achievements
These achievements vary in complexity and difficulty, so a guide is most likely necessary at one point or another.
Also, you may have checked my profile to realize there are two achievements I have not obtained, those being Speedrun and Commitment. I was never able to complete Speedrun although I know the process, and I didn’t do Commitment because… I have a life.Beat The Game
Simply unlock the Freedom Ending.Welcome Back!
Simply exit and restart the game, which you’ll probably end up doing while hunting for the rest of the achievements. It’s pretty much impossible to miss this achievement if you’re aiming for it.Achievement
In the “Options” menu, select “Extras” to find “Achievement” set to off. Switch it and you will unlock this achievement. 88888888888888888
In the Boss’ Office, you will find a pinpad. Type in 8888 once, and it will reject it. Type “8888” again and the achievement will unlock. Click On Door 430 Five Times
If you click Door 430 five times, the narrator will monologe about how you don’t deserve the achievement yet, and will lead you all across the office to click and stand on random things. Finish these objectives to unlock the achievement. You Can’t Jump
At any point, try pressing “Space” several times to unlock the achievement.Go Outside
You can be a weird person and spend five years not playing this game, or you can just change you’re computer clock five years ahead, go in to get the achievement, and then set it back.Speedrun
This achievement requires some preparation.
First, you need to go to the Office, enter the code into the pad, then restart the game. Return to the office and the narrator will talk before opening the door by himself. Now if you ever head back you can skip any dialogue and just go straight to the elevator.
Now you need to continuesly start a new game until you get a different start room. The two ones you can get are a narrow dark corridor, or a big blue room both immeditaly leading you to the door choice.
Once you get one of those rooms, race to the Freedom Ending.Unachieveable
Close the game and head to the Stanley Parable game files in “steamapps”. Next enter “config.cfg”. Now you want to make a new line and write ‘bind “x” “~;_u’ (without the ‘s). Now re-enter the game and click “x” to unlock the achievement.Commitment
You. no joke, have to play the game for 24 hours on a Tuesday. Either you do this legit, in which case you can’t just leave your computer on, you have to be playing, and if a random crash or glitch occurs, that’s tough luck, or you cheat it. There are several strategies to cheat this achievement on the Internet so make sure to check those out.Endings
Below is listed every single ending. Please note that variations of endings will not be noted here. As an example, trapping yourself in the Portal simulation, or the difference the Suicide and Cold Feet endings. Most endings are unspoiled, meaning only the process to unlock them are described. However, in a few endings, this may not be the case.The Freedom Ending
To get this ending, you need to follow the narrator at all times. In other words, you need to pick the left door, head upstairs to the office, enter the Mind Control Facility, and press the “OFF” button to destroy the facility. This will unlock the ending.Pressure Ending
Instead of leaving the room, shut the door to trigger the ending immediately.Sick Of This Gag / Not Sick Of This Gag Ending
In the first section of the office, you can climb up on a chair onto a desk next to a window. By crouching you can walk through the window out. After you do this, the narrator will begin speaking until he asks if you are sick of this gag yet. You will then be given an option to reply “Yes” or “No”. Clicking either of them proceeds with the respective ending.Red Door Ending
You need to first take the right door to reach the lift. When you go across, drop off the platform onto the walk below. Eventually you will reach two doors, one red, one blue. If you enter the red door, the Narrator will take you to a new area, where lights will be blazing, and will begin talking about how you need to stop moving and relax. Here, there is a door that will lead to corridor which will eventually open into a small area with a high staircase and a ledge. Continuesly climb up the stairs and drop down to kill yourself, despite the Narrator begging you to stop. After the fourth drop, you will die, and the ending will finish.Blue Door Ending
Same criteria as the Red Door Ending except that you must enter the Blue door. This will lead to an empty area where the Narrator will put you through random surveys, eventually leading you to his game, where you have to press a red button to stop a baby from running into fire. To win the game, you have to do this for four hours. For the purpose of this run, you can just fail the game. Afterwards, the Narrator will bring you into a simulation of Minecraft, and then Portal. Eventually he will say he’s done playing and is leaving you. After that a big hole will appear. If you drop down you will be in a big dark narrow corridor. Eventually the ending will trigger by itself.Baby Ending
For the first two hours, you just need to press the red button to save the baby. After the two hour mark, you need to now alternate between the red button, and a blue button to save a dog from suffocation. If you complete this, you will be taken to a scene where you are talking to the essence of art itself. This unlocks the ending.Escape Pod Ending
Go through the left door and up to the Boss’ office. When you enter into the office, move back as fast as you can so that the doors shut before you enter, trapping you out. When you turn around, you will see that all closed doors are opened. If you return to the beginning a pitch black door will be open. If you enter you will be taken to a dark area with stairs. If you go all the way up you will be led to a dark room where you will find an escape pod, and interacting with it unlocks the ending.Broom Closet EndingThe Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe
If you enter into the Broom Closet and stay in there for a while, the Narrator will monologe for a while, until he stops completely. If you restart the game and return, he will speak a bit more then stop again. If you reset and go back again the Broom Closet will be boarded up by wood.Heaven Ending
There are computers hidden around the office that contain a screen displaying purple bars. If you click it, a purple bar will appear. You need to find all five computers to be teleported to Heaven, where you can push buttons for eternity.Suicide Ending
When on the lift, simply fall off and all the way down to die and unlock the ending.Wife Ending
If you head across the lift, you will reach an area where a phone is ringing. If you click it, you will be teleported to Stanley’s wife’s apartment. When you enter, the Narrator will start narrating about how you died. He will keep repeating things and the world will change around you back into Stanley’s office. Eventually the Narrator will tell you to die, and this unlocks the ending.The Stanley Parable AchievementChoice EndingThe Stanley Parable Markiplier
Same criteria as the Wife Ending, except that you have to unplug the phone. The Narrator will then show you a video about choice. Afterwards, he will direct you back to the beginning of the game and will tell you to head into the left door. Head into the right to find that the game is breaking. Now return and head to the left. Keep going until the game is destroyed. The game will then reset itself, back to when you choose the left or right door. Go to the left to find that you are in some kind of alternate universe. The game will reset again, and will unlock the ending.Museum Ending
The criteria of this ending is the same as the Freedom Ending up until the elevator. Instead of going into the Mind Control Facility, head into the corridor marked “ESCAPE”. Continue forward even as the Narrator warns you. Eventually you will fall into a pit where Stanley is crushed to death. From here you will be directed into the Museum. From here you can explore to find many interesting sprites and other things. Enter the exit sign to find the ending.Countdown EndingThe Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe
Same criteria as the Freedom Ending up until the final choice. Instead of clicking the “OFF” button to destory the facility, click “ON” to start a detonation sequence. As the Narrator monologes, you are directed to figure out how to decode a huge puzzle in less than five minutes. It is impossible nevertheless, and eventually you will be blown up, unlocking the ending.Dream Ending
Head through the left door first. Instead of heading to the boss’ office, head downstairs. From here, you’re going to be in a huge area with a few rooms. As you walk through, you’ll begin to realize that the rooms are repeating themselves. The Narrator will be talking about how you are having an identity crisis and how your mind is collapsing. Eventually the screen will go black and you will lose control of Stanley. This will begin the ending.The Confusion EndingThe Stanley Parable Endings
Hero of the kingdom collection. Head through the right door and then go through the detour back to the left path. Instead of going all the way through, head into the hidden elevator. When you go down, you’ll find yourself above the Mind Control Facility. The Narrator will try to prevent spoilers by restarting the game. When you head back to the two door choice, you will find a dozen. After you look around for a while, the Narrator will restart the game again. When you head back, there will be no doors. The Narrator will lead you back to the beginning where you will find yourself in a wooden hut. The Narrator will then reset the game yet again. Now the Stanley Parable Adventure Line will appear. It will guide you into previously inaccessible areas and will go in a full five minute circle, eventually leading you back to above the Mind Control Facility again. The game will reset, and the Narrator will say that he wants he and you to make a new adventure. He opens a random door and you will have to follow him to eventually find two doors. The Narrator himself will make an equation and come to a conclusion of opening the door on the right. Inside you will find the Confusion Ending timer, along with the whole setup and schedule. After a while, the game will reset once again, which unlocks the ending.

The most recent version of Franchise Hockey Manager 2 (FHM 2) released on September 28, 2015 on Mac and PC. It is available through the developer website and also through Steam.[2] The new version allows the user to take control of a team in any of 21 leagues from around the world, including the NHL, KHL, Canadian leagues, minor leagues in the US, leagues in the UK, leagues in Sweden and Finland, and more. You can also play any historical NHL or WHA season back to 1931 or create a custom fictional setup. FHM 2 also contains a new game engine, a revamped tactics system and support for league expansion.[3]
Like its cousin, OOTP, FHM puts players in the role of a GM and coach: They sign free agents, trade players, set up strategies, decide on lines, and more.
FHM 2 has been noted as being a large improvement over its predecessor.[4][5][6][7]
’When all’s said and done, Franchise Hockey Manager 2 is a big step up from its predecessor. Those who have stuck by the developer and go out and purchase this game having previously owned Franchise Hockey Manager 2014 will find a much more polished game this time around. They will also be pleased with the care and attention the team have given to the database, game modes and options, and the sheer number of teams and players available from the get go,’ wrote The Digital Fix.[7]
The first version, FHM 2014, was released on September 3, 2013.[1] It featured 19 leagues from around the world, It also included historical NHL play back to 1947 and the entire 1970s history of the WHA.
’The amount of detail involved is great -- they have rosters and prospects for all NHL teams, but also for junior and European leagues -- and it’s still fun to mix and match line combinations,’ wrote TSN (The Sports Network) columnist Scott Cullen in a column on Oct. 2, 2013.[8]
A major update to the game, released on March 9, 2014, included: new training, scouting, and staff/personnel systems; four new leagues in the US, Switzerland, Asia, and Finland; a new blind mode; and many fixes and improvements. In an April 3, 2014 interview conducted by Bryan Calhoun, who co-hosts the Got Game show on the Sportsnet AM 590 radio station in Toronto, for the Sportsnet web site, FHM producer Jeff Riddolls explained that the game is ’part of a genre of sports management games that’s very popular in Europe – Football Manager, our soccer counterpart, sells well over a million copies annually – but only has a small audience on our side of the Atlantic so far.’[11]
When Calhoun asked how the game handles the unique rules of the many leagues in the game, Riddolls explained: ’It does [have them]. In some cases, though, those rules are a little difficult to model within the game - the limitations on the use of 15-year-olds in major junior, for example. So we occasionally have to handle them in an abstract way or leave a rule out if it just won’t work in a game setting, but for the most part we try to have the league rules work as accurately as possible.’

I really don’t understand how things like this happen. I don’t understand how a series can establish itself, improve on its core elements, and then abandon them in such dramatic fashion. It’s not something I see often, thankfully, and it’s something I never expected to see in this series. But I’ve given Hero of the Kingdom III nearly four hours to rise out of the slog it’s made of the classic trading and adventuring, and if anything it’s gotten worse. I’ve gotten to the point where I’m not even sure I want to finish it, knowing how much hacking and slashing and potion-chugging is in my future, and if that sounds strange to you then you might be as clueless about this series as its developers.Hero Of The Kingdom Cheats

You begin your tale as a simple youth, living in the simple woods with his simple uncle. You’re hunters by necessity, and your first steps on the hero’s path are errands to catch rabbits and perform odd jobs for the nearby (like five steps away) village. All that changes when a freak earthquake buries your home in unyielding stone, and the ground splits to unleash hell hounds and undead. Visions of a princess and a dark force beneath the earth fill your head and lead you out of your besieged valley, across the kingdom to uncover the truth behind the chaos.
Hero of the Kingdom III starts off with plenty of promise, introducing you to a slightly new twist on the classic “hero is born” story from the previous games. You’ll also notice a few immediate mechanical differences right away, including skill levels and camping. Now when you perform common tasks like fighting or hunting, you have a skill level that can rise and is checked against more imposing tasks. Additionally, you no longer have to backtrack to camps to rest and regain strength for tasks, as you can camp anywhere and spend a generic food resource to get those precious heart points. You’ll even learn crafting skills like cooking and potion-making that can be used at camp to supplement your resources.Hero Of The Kingdom Walkthrough
Learning these new systems is pretty exciting, given how mechanically similar the first two HotK games were. And you’ll put them to good use as you strike out from the village to battle back the beasts that threaten it. The paths forward, whether they be through pastoral fields or grim forests or dank caves, are lined with monsters to hack your way through. Just as you saw in HotK II these monsters require a combination of weapons, potions, and strength to overcome, but now they also call for specific combat skill levels to topple. The further into the game you get the more these beasts will become roadblocks, either because of the increasing potion quantities to tackle them or the sudden jumps in combat skill needed.Hero Of The Kingdom Ii
This wouldn’t be a huge deal, except that for some reason Hero of the Kingdom III is almost entirely built around this combat. To get from one valley to the next is usually a journey of four or five screens, each with a handful of monsters to beat. Shockingly few tasks require the trading or constructing that were such a staple of the first two games, leaving this one feeling like a pale attempt at a dungeon crawler. And churning your way through these hordes will require constant pauses to stock up on potions or replace broken equipment, since you’re essentially doing the same thing dozens of times over. I wasn’t even halfway through the game when I got the achievement for killing 150 monsters, and that’s 100% not what I signed up for here. The Hero of the Kingdom series is known for relaxing trading and adventuring, fixing bridges and baking bread to overcome the obstacles in your path. Hero of the Kingdom III swerves hard away from this in an effort to make you more of a conventional fantasy hero. But we don’t need that, especially when the combat that fills that sort of game is just a matter of checking your numbers and clicking on things. It’s not even well-designed progression, forcing you to always be scraping together more money for potions, scour maps you’ve already been over for respawning resources, and fight things you don’t even need to fight in the hopes of getting the skill-up you need. I really hope the developers can find their way back to what made the first two games work, because Hero of the Kingdom III is an incredibly disappointing departure.
